Vanity Access With Jessica Hart

10th March 2017 | By Jessica Taylor

When a supermodel creates a line of makeup, we listen. After 2 years in development Australian model, Jessica Hart, launched her own cosmetic label comprised of her favourite products and beauty secrets.  But what are her beauty secrets?

Far from the heavy makeup looks and creative hair up-do’s from the catwalk she graces, Jess reveals to Pop Sugar she prefers to adopt a ‘less is more’ approach to her regime.

What are your top 5 beauty products?

“My favourite moisturiser right now is Embryolisse, it’s really good and cheap, I also love SkinCeuticals B5 Gel ($113.52). I wear my Luma Tinted Moisturiser ($19.95) every day, I’ve got it on today I wear it under anything, all the time. I’ve been using everything in my range too, it’s so hard to choose! My illuminator, I would say is definitely one of my favourites. That’s the idea though [behind the brand], that this is everything I wear, and I don’t need to travel with anything else. My last must-have would have to be my Sheer Lipstick in Nude Shimmer ($19.95), I love it because it takes out the red in my lips, it’s not too opaque and it’s not too white, it’s just got the right amount of shimmer in it.”

What does a typical day look like for you?

“Working is typical! I don’t know, it’s hard, probably on a plane, or in the studio with lots of hair and makeup. Ideally a call-time that’s not too early so I can get up and work out in the morning, but that’s not usually the case.”

 In terms of beauty…

“I shower and moisturise, I use the B5 gel, I just like to have one thing on my face, I try not to layer on too much, then I’ll use the tinted moisturiser on top. That’s it!”

What is your biggest beauty secret?

“My mum always used to tell me, when I was 14 and I was going to my first castings, because I’ve always had dry lips, 'Put your lip balm on'. Then after I put it on, she’d say put it on your brow bones and your cheekbones. So now I’ve always done that naturally, whenever I put my lip balm on I just use whatever’s left over on my finger I put it on the top of my cheekbones and my brow bones. And I think that’s what’s made me love the Luma highlighter so much, because it’s like a natural, finer version of that, it’s not too shimmery."

What is your ultimate Summer beauty tip?

“I’m a big advocate for sunscreen, it’s so crazy what it does for you, you can really see the difference! Being all natural for Luma our tinted moisturiser and foundation could only go up to SPF15. So you need to find a good sunscreen that’s light and not too thick. I find the Kiehl’s SPF50+ one is good, and the Chanel one is great too, you only have to use a tiny amount and it goes on so sheer, you can wear it under anything, and it really works.”
